If you’re facing divorce, you may already know what you don’t want. You don’t want a destructive process. You don’t want years of bitterness. And you don’t want decisions made in the heat of emotion that you later regret.
Divorce with Dignity is for couples who want to end their relationship with clarity, respect and consideration, emotionally, practically, and, where relevant, as co-parents.
This work focuses on how you relate to each other throughout separation, during the legal process, and in the years that follow.
Alongside the practical decisions, many people find themselves dealing with strong emotional reactions, difficulty communicating without things escalating, living separately while still sharing responsibilities, and tension around children, finances, work and future plans.
When emotions are running high, it’s easy to become reactive or slip into familiar patterns. Conversations can harden into positions, misunderstandings grow, and the process becomes more painful than it needs to be.
This isn’t about reopening old wounds or deciding who was right or wrong. It’s about developing enough understanding to reduce reactivity and create the conditions for clearer, more thoughtful decisions.
communicate more thoughtfully around difficult topics
reduce reactive patterns and emotional stalemates
work through practical decisions with less conflict
establish workable co-parenting arrangements where relevant
let go of what no longer serves them
For many people, this creates a sense of completion, allowing them to move forward without carrying unresolved pain, conflict or confusion into the next chapter of their lives.
We usually begin with individual sessions so each of you has space to be understood. This is followed by supported joint sessions, where you practise a structured dialogue process and apply it to the real issues you’re facing. This helps create clearer communication and more considered decision-making.
Working individually allows us to focus on how you experience the relationship, the patterns you tend to fall into, and what you want to do differently going forward. People choose this route when they want clarity about a current separation, or about how they wish to relate in the future; both with their former partner and in future relationships.
I bring over 25 years’ experience as a relationship and couples coach, with training in mediation, Imago, attachment-based work and nervous-system-informed practice. My background in mediation means I’m able to hold difficult conversations with balance, fairness and clarity, even when emotions are high.
Most importantly, I don’t see divorcing couples as broken. I see people going through a difficult transition, who benefit from understanding, structure and support at a time of significant change.
If you’d like to explore whether Divorce with Dignity is right for you, you’re very welcome to arrange a Clarity Call.
